NoMesh

We just set up a stream for Radio Algiers 88.7FM. We’ll get some indymedia mirrors up tomorrow. mtoups?

It’s getting it’s feed from a little battery powered FM receiver. So if it goes quiet the battery died. We’re also a bit bandwidth constrained here. We have 3-4 VoIP phones, a computer lab with 6 machines, plus random laptops all on DSL… nomesh will solve that, but to get some serious bandwidth will take a few days at least (unless we get really lucky).

Using BLAG and MuSE. Thanks jaromil. :)

  1. I’m a reporter in New Orleans trying to get the scoop on Radio Algiers. I found a contact number online with a 303 area code, but it never works. Also, since yesterday afternoon, the frequency’s been dead. Have they been shut down, or are they just experiencing technical difficulties? Do you have any contact information for any of their directors? I’d really like to get their story out, but don’t want to jeopardize anyone’s safety.

  2. Yow! I’m through trying to leave a message here. A mouse click to place the cursor and a half-finished sentence jumps out of my hands. But, I didn’t really have anything to say except that I’ve heard the FCC busted the FM station, as though the feds don’t owe a state-of-the-art studio to Algiers, and those trying to program, listen, or share information on Radio Algiers. I’ve tried to pick up the webstream six or eight times but have never gotten anything but an ERROR-SERVER NOT AVAILABLE screen. Is anyone getting a webstream from Radio Algiers?

Will the moderator please delete those half-sentences that flew out of my hands everytime I clicked to place the cursor. Thanks. Hang in–AGYG

  3. Uh,it looks like it’s down on the Algiers end. Nothing I can do, sorry.
